Georgia Apple Festival
Kicking off the season, the annual Georgia Apple Festival will celebrate the harvest with apple picking, delicious cider tastings, and fun family activities. The Georgia Apple Festival not only celebrates the local apple industry, but also fosters community engagement and tourism.

Wine & Jazz Festival
Next, wine enthusiasts won’t want to miss our Blue Ridge Mountains Wine and Jazz Festival presented by Kharisma Entertainment and hosted by White Path Creek Farms, featuring great music, great wines, fine art, and delicious cuisine. Come, bring a blanket or some lawn chairs and relax while you listen to some great music and enjoy some of our wines from around the world.
Gilmer county fair
This fall, expect our annual Gilmer County Fair, which has been a tradition since 1939 and is organized by the Ellijay Lions Club. The fair has rides and games provided by Peachtree Rides, which offers fun for all ages and various games where you can win prizes!
Gilmer County fair provides various food options, ranging from local specialties and fair favorites! Local fair food paired with live entertainment creates that lovely small town fair atmosphere.
The Gilmer County Fair takes place on August 13 to the 18th at the Gilmer Fairgrounds located at 1729 South Main Street, Ellijay, GA 30540. Admission prices are $3 for Students, $5 for Adults, and Children under 7 are free.
Ellijay Bacon festival
Finally, get ready to indulge in all things savory at our 3rd annual Bacon Festival, where food trucks and local chefs will serve up creative bacon-infused dishes.
Gather your friends and family to enjoy the flavors of fall and create unforgettable memories at these must-attend events, while also helping raise awareness and money for local charities/organizations.
The Ellijay Bacon Festival will be on September 29, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Gilmer River Park. 1561 S. Main St., Ellijay, GA. Parking will be $10, but admission is free for all!
Oh, and don’t forget to sign up for the bacon eating contest! When there, to sign up, go to the Destination Bacon Booth #2 and complete a waiver and pay the entry fee.
