Light Up Ellijay
The celebrations commence with Light Up Ellijay 2024, during which the town square is transformed into a spectacular wonderland adorned with shimmering lights, festive music, and the delightful excitement surrounding the annual Christmas tree lighting. The warm community spirit of Ellijay, combined with its magical atmosphere, evokes the charm of a holiday film—an experience that will forge cherished memories for years ahead.
Seek out the vibrant inflatable Christmas figures and the enormous Santa house that will bring holiday joy to the town square. Families, pets, and children are warmly welcomed to capture photographs with Santa and Mrs. Claus, fostering cherished memories with loved ones. Be sure to witness the enchanting occasion when Santa lights the Ellijay Christmas tree in the square, marking the commencement of the seasonal celebrations.
Light Up Ellijay Parade
The Light Up Ellijay Parade, scheduled for December 7th, marks an essential commencement of the holiday season. The downtown area will be vibrant with festive vendor booths, delectable treats, and the joyful melodies of carolers. Santa will be present on the courthouse steps, ready to take photos with children, while the atmosphere will be infused with holiday cheer as the Gilmer Schools Chorus performs beloved seasonal songs.
As night descends, the highlight of the evening commences! Gather along the streets at 6 p.m. to witness the spectacular parade, featuring brilliantly illuminated floats, cheerful characters, and an abundance of holiday enchantment. Following the parade, several floats will be stationed behind the Welcome Center for a unique meet-and-greet opportunity, ensuring a memorable evening in Ellijay.
The Isaacs Christmas Concert
The acclaimed and versatile group, The Isaacs, has dedicated five decades to crafting their signature family harmonies and unique sound, earning them a devoted following among audiences worldwide.
The group’s history spans several decades, having first graced the Grand Ole Opry stage 30 years ago, where they continue to be regular performers. They tour extensively, playing over 100 shows annually for fans across the globe, and have appeared on esteemed platforms such as Carnegie Hall, as well as at events like CMA Fest and the “CMA Country Christmas” special.
This highly regarded ensemble has received numerous nominations and has performed at various prestigious awards ceremonies, including the Grammys and the GMA Dove Awards, where they have collectively secured 19 Dove Awards across different categories. Additionally, they have been honored at the International Bluegrass Music Association Awards, the Singing News Fan Awards, and the Inspirational Christian Country Awards. Their recent projects have garnered consecutive Grammy nominations for “Best Roots Gospel Album” and “Best Roots Gospel Song.”
The Isaacs have traveled extensively, sharing their musical message globally, and Ellijay is privileged to host them for the Gilmer Arts Christmas Concert at the Victory Christian Center on Sunday, December 8th.
