Light Up Ellijay Parade

Ellijay’s Annual Christmas Parade.

The Light Up Ellijay Parade on December 7th is a can’t-miss kickoff to the holiday season! The downtown streets will come alive with festive vendor booths, delicious treats, and the cheerful sounds of carolers. Santa will be waiting on the courthouse steps for photos with the little ones, and the air will be filled with holiday spirit as the Gilmer Schools Chorus sings your favorite seasonal tunes.

As evening falls, the main event begins! Line the streets at 6 p.m. for the dazzling parade, complete with brightly lit floats, jolly characters, and all the holiday magic you could wish for. Afterward, some of the floats will park behind the Welcome Center for a special meet-and-greet, making this a night to remember in Ellijay!

• 12:00 PM – Holiday Market on Broad St & Sand St
• 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM – Photos with Santa on Courthouse Steps
• 4:00 PM – 5:30 PM – Gilmer Schools Chorus performance on Downtown Welcome Center Porch
• 6:00 PM – Parade begins, meet and greet with floats behind Downtown Welcome Center

Parking instructions:

Parking is provided in the City Parking Lot and private parking lots on River St. Additional City parking available next to the Tabor House Museum. Parking is also provided behind the Playhouse in the County lot outside vendor area. Additional parking may be available at The First Baptist Church Lots. Volunteer and Vendor vehicle parking in the lot that is west of Gilmer St. behind the Welcome Center. Volunteers at parade setup will park at the United Methodist Church side lot or EES.
